Beef up the flavor with Laura’s Arrachera recipe. Making this citrus and garlic-packed marinade with a molcajete gives your skirt steak the melt-in-your-mouth quality everyone is sure to enjoy.

Arrachera Recipe (Skirt Steak)

  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons of Mazola® Corn Oil
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 chipotle
  • 3 tablespoons of chopped cilantro
  • ¼ cup of ketchup
  • 2½ pounds of arrachera (skirt steak)


  1. Step 1) In a molcajete, place the sea salt, garlic, and Mazola® Corn Oil. Smash until it’s well blended.
  2. Step 2) Add the chipotle, oregano, ketchup, and lime juice and smash until the ingredients are all combined.
  3. Step 3) Spread the mix on the arrachera.
  4. Step 4) Add the cilantro and let it rest for a couple of hours.
  5. Step 5) Grill until the juice starts coming out of the beef and flip.
  6. Step 6) Plate and serve with rice and beans or anything else you'd like!
