Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup Mazola® Corn Oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1-1/2 cups seedless raisins
  • As needed Mazola® No-Stick Canola or Butter Flavored Cooking Spray
  • Glaze
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Step 1) Combine flour, brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, cloves and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.
  2. Step 2) Combine molasses, buttermilk, oil and egg until well blended in a large bowl. Add flour mixture, then raisins, stirring to combine. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.
  3. Step 3) Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray 2 large baking sheets with cooking spray.
  4. Step 4) Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets. Bake 7 to 9 minutes, or until set and no imprint remains when lightly touched. Cool on wire rack.
  5. To prepare Glaze: Combine powdered sugar, milk and vanilla; stir well. Spoon into resealable plastic bag. Cut small hole in corner; drizzle glaze over cookies.
  6. Tip: Before measuring molasses, spray measuring cup with cooking spray.
