High Blood Pressure
The American Society of Hypertension indicates that this condition, also referred to as high blood pressure,
is a common, yet serious problem. High blood pressure is often referred to as the "silent killer" because
the symptoms are not specific. Those who have this condition are more likely to die from related diseases
such as stroke or heart attack.
Maintaining a healthy weight and diet can help lower your risk of high
blood pressure. Avoid excess salt or prepared meals that are high in salt content.
The Harvard Medical School of Public Health has designed a new
food guide pyramid, which suggests eating more unsaturated fats than the U.S.
Department of Agriculture food pyramid that was created in 1992. Dr. Walter C.
Willet writes, in his book Eat, Drink And Be Healthy, "A combination
of good fats (poly and monounsaturated fats) provides protein for cells and supports
hormones, blood and muscles. These fats are not produced in the body - they must
come from plant oils and fish."
Mazola oils are:
- Low in saturated fat
- 100% pure
- Salt-free
- Cholesterol free
